Steven Carney, 41, of Joelton has been identified as the man who died following an incident with a semi tractor-trailer truck on Interstate 40 West near Bellevue on Oct. 4.
According to a news release from the Metro Nashville Police Department, the driver of the tractor-trailer said that the man was standing on the interstate trying to stop vehicles. The truck came to a complete stop, after which the man jumped onto the truck, hung onto the mirror and tried to open the passenger door.
