Local undefeated boxer, Tyler “Short Fuse” Tomlin, went for a ride-along with local police last week in Cheatham County.

Tomlin recently joined the local police force in the fight against drugs and an opioid crisis that has significantly affected his hometown.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Tomlin wasn’t able to get into local schools in the surrounding area, but he plans to soon address the topic with local students. Tomlin wants to be a part of the change for his community, and he feels joining local police will help him see and understand the drug issues that currently plague Cheatham County.

“The drug issues that are debilitating our community need to be addressed, and I want to do my part to help.” said Tomlin, who recently signed a multi-year promotional agreement with DiBilla Entertainment. “Last night was my first ride-along with local police, and it was an experience I’ll remember for the rest of my life. I don’t think people realize how bad it is out there. Young men and women are dying out there in the streets. This drug epidemic is nothing to be taken lightly. I’ll be doing more ride-alongs throughout the year to get a better idea of what to say when I speak at the schools.”

Tomlin said he wants to send a special thanks to the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office for last Friday night’s ride-along and all their assistance in the fight against drugs in his Cheatham County home.
