Walker Bunce, the offensive wrecking ball for Cheatham County Central, has signed a letter of intent to play football at Carson-Newman.
The 175-pound running back not only runs through defenses, he also competes in track and field events, including an appearance in the state meet in the 200 meters.
Bunce has been timed at 4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash and used that speed and athleticism to garner the Region 6-AAA Most Valuable Athlete award. Bunce gathered 760 yards on 116 carries and 10 touchdowns in his senior season.
Bunce will be joining a team that likely use his abilities on offense. Carson-Newman finished its 2018 season with a 7-4 record while compiling more than 340 rushing yards per game.
