To the Editor:
We are writing this letter on behalf of our daughter Samantha Nicole Dial Hankins, 33, of Goodlettsville, Tenn., who was raised in Cheatham County, and her friend Robert Williams, 29, of Hartford, Ky.
We are seeking any help we can find to bring justice to the person or persons responsible for their deaths. Their bodies were discovered 02/02/19 at approximately 2:20 a.m. in a vehicle that had been set on fire on Great River Road in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Currently the investigation is being run by the TBI. We have been in contact with Special Agent Jessica Shannon. In the beginning one of our contacts was Deputy Chief Cook of the Dyer County Sherriff’s Department. We were advised in February 2019 that the TBI had taken over investigation.
We as the family have not been given much more information other than it was not an accident. Jessica Shannon she believes she is getting close. But we have been hearing the same thing for months. We do not even have any official cause of death. We learn of any information via the news.
We are not saying that the TBI is not doing their job investigating this murder. We as a family believe they are not doing it satisfactorily. We would like any help in this matter that we can find.
This has torn our family apart. If you have children would you not want justice? Put yourself in our shoes. We attempt to go to bed every night with this on our hearts and then wake up every morning to face this nightmare again with no answers coming our way. Please help us.
