Rain likely to disappear for a while

What a beautiful weekend we enjoyed across Middle Tennessee with unusually low humidity for mid-June.

Rain chances for the week ahead will mostly be slight and in the form of a pop-up afternoon storm as it gets hotter. I wouldn’t be surprised to see temperatures soar into the mid-90s by the end of the week and the weekend.

On June 15, 1952, the temperature hit 100 degrees in Nashville, the earliest that mark was ever recorded in the area.

The National Weather Service offers online advanced storm spotter classes that you can take from your home computer. The classes take no more than two hours and are free. The National Weather Service in Oklahoma City has all of the info on its web page, www.weather.gov/oun/skywarn-spotter.
