On Sunday, March 15, 2020, the whistle was blown, and #44, Michael Andre Chatman, age 37, answered the call. He knew time had run out, he didn’t tackle God’s call, he knew God had plans for him on another field. Michael Andre Chatman was born on January 14, 1983 in Springfield, Tennessee to Mary Elizabeth Carney and Bobby Ray Chatman.

He attended Beards Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and continued for most of his childhood. As he got older, he found Christ and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. While attending Mt. Olive, he became a member of the choir.

Michael attended Springfield High School where he graduated in 2002. He was awarded a full scholarship to Tennessee State University where he played Football. After one year, he transferred to Austin Peay University where he majored in Sports Medicine.

He also loved his job at AO Smith in Ashland City, Tennessee. Michael loved playing sports including football, baseball, field and track, basketball and weight lifting.

As he was pursuing his dream, he was creating his own little dream team. A team to cherish his memory are his children, Tristan Chatman of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Zion Chatman of Lewisburg, Tennessee; Jonah, Jaylon, and Jordon Chatman of Bowling Green, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by brother, Vincent Chatman.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories: parents, father, Bobby Ray Chatman,; mother, Mary Elizabeth Carney; Laquwanda Chatman Mejia Morillo (Denny Mejia Morillo); Barbara Warfield; Lakeisha Chatman; Fatima Chatman; Tamika Chatman; Bobby Chatman; and Latoya Chatman. Aunts and Uncle: Gladys (Joe) Fort; Katherine Chatman; Linda Chatman; Brenda Payne; Kay Chatman; Pam Baker; Tina Chatman; Teresa (Bob) Besser, Nathaniel Chatman; James (Gaynell) Chatman; Wayne (Helen) Chatman; Ricky Chatman; Willie Chatman; James Carney; Della Cage, and Lucy Johnson. Nieces and Nephews: Shenisjah Chatman; Lizzaria Gresham; Ja’Niya Chatman; Nicoria Warfield; Reg’Shanell King; and Demetrius Chatman. Great nieces and nephew: Damayanti King; Jaydon Chatman; and Devonte Chatman. Host of cousins, friends and a very special friend, Charlie Fort and Bobby Chatman, his brother. He held a special spot in his heart for Candace Sharkley.

Funeral Services were Sunday, March 22 at First Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Taylor, Eulogy and Pastor Quinton Yates, Officiating. Interment was in Beards Chapel Church Cemetery.
