James “Mark” Caruthers, age 57, passed away Sunday, June 16,2019 at St. Thomas West in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mark was born in Dickson County, Tennessee, on December 13,1961, to the late James Elbert Caruthers and Mattie Elizabeth Sullivan Caruthers-White. Mark worked as an auto diesel mechanic.
He is preceded in death by his companion of over 20 years, Selene Railey; grandparents, Hershel and Bessie Caruthers and Horace and Ester Sullivan; his parents, his stepmother, Bertie Mae Caruthers and his stepfather, Benjamin Charles White.
He is survived by his sons, James D. (Crystal) Caruthers, and Michael S. (Kristen) Ladd; daughters, LaTasha Ann Becnel, and Tara Elizabeth (Justin) Cook; stepchildren, Jay, Toby, and Joseph Railey, and Christopher and Tiffany Thompson; sisters, Wanda Shelton, Gail (J.B) Boyles, Cynthia Downing, Pamela (Skip) Burdette, and Renee Caruthers-Adler; and 23 grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 19, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, June 20 from 10 a.m. until service hour of 1 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be James Caruthers, Michael Ladd, Chris Thompson, Henry Pruitt and Justin Pruitt.
