Emory Lee Henley, 80, of Clarksville, TN, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020 at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View, TN on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Rick Smith officiating. Burial will follow at EverRest of Cheatham with Emory Henley, II, Steve Bryant, Joe Greenfield, Forrest Greenfield, Austin Henley, Cal Waldorf, and Steve Americano serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11 and again on Wednesday from noon until the hour of service at 1 p.m.
Mr. Henley was born on January 15, 1940 in Imboden, VA to the late William and Frances Moore Henley. He retired from the Transit Bus System in Washington, D.C. and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Emory was an avid golfer and also served as a Marshall at the Nashville Golf Links in Joelton for over 15 years, and he was a Christian.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers: Walt, Clyde, Sylvan, Henry Demps, and Lonnie Henley; and sisters, Ella Smith, and Edna Willis.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jean Rhoton Henley; son, Emory (Tammy) Henley, II of Joelton, TN; daughters, Donna (Steve) Bryant of Hoschton, GA and Marjorie (Joe) Greenfield of Opelika, AL; sister, Della Smith of Big Stone Gap, VA; grandchildren, Jessica (Steve) Americano, Brianna (Cal) Waldorf, Forrest Greenfield, Austin (Ginger) Henley, and Julie Henley; and great-grandchildren, Eleanor Rose Waldorf, and one on the way, Logan.
