Charles “Doodle” Bowman, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Doodle was born in Ashland City, Tennessee, on June 7, 1955, to the late Hugh and Eloise (Newman) Bowman. He was the owner and operator of Bowman’s Tire and Wrecker as well as Bowman’s Auto Sales. Doodle was a loving husband, father, and friend, who would never hesitate to help anyone. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Diane (Perry) Bowman; daughter, Penny Bowman; and five sisters, Debra Hale (Tommy), Ann Klepinger, Connie Nichols (Paul), Kay Kirkland (Kirk), and Becky Sullins (Jerry).
Funeral service for Doodle will be Friday, October 8th, at 3pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home, LLC, with James Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be Thursday, October 7th from 1pm to 7pm and on Friday, October 8th, from 11am until service hour of 3pm. Serving as active pallbearers are Steve Murff, Tracy Oliver, Brian Biggs, Jeff Barber, Marc Coulon, Bill Krantz, Billy Hudspeth, and Tim Binkley. Honorary pallbearers are Keith Whitworth, Ron Hardison, David Clark, John Hiett and the employees of Bowman’s.
