Director of Schools Dr. Cathy Beck presented a reopening plan to the Cheatham County School Board during its work session last Thursday.
The district’s academic year is scheduled to start on Monday, Aug. 10.
An elementary, middle and high school task force, composed of teachers, parents, principals and administrators, helped to create the plan.
The plan is composed of three teaching and learning models: traditional (with a virtual option), hybrid and remote.
The implementation of these options will be based on Cheatham County’s COVID-19 infection rates. If health guidance suggests a path outside of the traditional plan, then the reopening plan will move to either the hybrid or remote models.
Families will receive a survey sent by email. All families are encouraged to complete the survey as soon as possible when they receive so that it can be used for planning purposes.
