Sharon Alice Lurie has joined the staff of The Cheatham County Exchange as a fulltime news reporter.

Lurie has worked for Main Street Media as a freelance news and features reporter since 2019. In that time, she has interviewed Nashville Mayor John Cooper several times and written about former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s event at World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro last summer.

She was born and raised in New Jersey and lived eight years in northeast Indiana until moving to Middle Tennessee in 2000. She worked as a private detective for seven years.

Lurie enjoys writing about new local businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals making a difference on the local level.

“I enjoy getting to highlight all the positive things happening in our neighborhoods and good people in our counties,” she said. “When we see our neighbors affecting positive change in our midst, it emboldens us to do the same.

“Tennessee has welcomed me with open arms, and this has truly become home to me.”
