Bull Run Recreation Area on the Cumberland River in Ashland City is scheduled to be permanently closed on Oct. 31, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced Thursday.
The area is currently a city-operated park leased from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District.
The park encompasses 63 total acres of which four acres have been developed for day use recreation, including a boat ramp, gravel parking lot, picnic sites and a trail.
Ashland City is returning the site to pre-lease conditions and is closing the park with a physical barrier upon release of the park to the Corps of Engineers.
Boating and day use visitors have alternate locations for boat launching, and day use recreation in the immediate vicinity at Riverbluff Park and Cleeces Ferry.
