Ribbon cutting ceremonies will take place on Saturday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m. when the nature trail in Pleasant View Community Park will be renamed the Jackson Webb nature trail.

“This is for his dedication to building bird houses for cardinals, bluebirds and screech owls common to PV community park,” said Pleasant View Parks and Recreation Director Jill Niccolich, honoring Webb who passed away on Oct. 17, 2017 at the age of 16.

The Pleasant View Board of Mayor and Aldermen recently voted unanimously for the renaming of the trail.

In seeking his Eagle Scout Merit Badge, Webb volunteered to donate his time and build 12 birdhouses for Pleasant View Community Park. The birdhouses will be hung in various areas along the walking trail and nature trail.

“Fellow eagle scouts will be on hand for the dedication,” Niccolich said.

The public is welcome to attend the dedication ceremony.
