Christmas Anonymous Road Block sponsored by the Ashland City Civitan Club to raise money to purchase toys for underprivileged children in Cheatham County will be held Saturday, Nov. 21 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Main Street intersections in Ashland City and 9 a.m.-noon at the New Hope Road intersection. The Pegram United Methodist Women’s Annual Bazaar will be held Saturday, Nov. 21 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the church parking lot at 479 Thompson Rd. The traditional luncheon will be for take-out only this year, with to-go plates of ham, white beans, turnip greens, hot water cornbread and a dessert available for $8. Baked goods are available by pre-sale only by emailing Home-canned bread and butter pickles and zucchini relish are also being presold by email for $5, to be picked-up the day of the event. The Republican Party of Cheatham County will hold its November meeting on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 9 a.m. at Alliance Machine and Fabrication, 102 Mulberry St. in Ashland City. A potluck breakfast will be served and guests should bring their own chair. Stephen Skelton from The American Bible Project is scheduled to be the guest speaker.

The South Cheatham Ministerial Association’s Annual Community Thanksgiving Service will be held Sunday, Nov. 22 at 4 p.m. at Pegram Church of Christ, 5019 Walkup Rd. The service will be held outdoors. Participants can stay in their car and tune in through their car radio or bring chairs to sit outside. The service will be led by area pastors and will feature music from the various churches. A special collection will be taken to benefit the Ark Community Resource Center. Pleasant View Group Open AA Meetings will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-8 p.m. at The Livery Stable/Coach House, 1104 Main St. in Pleasant View.


The Cheatham County Historical and Genealogical Association meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Cheatham County Public Library, 188 John E. Mayfield Dr. in Ashland City.
