The Fifth Annual Tennessee Wildlife and Landscape Photo Contest sponsored by the Tennessee Wildlife Federation is taking submissions through Aug. 31. Photographers — amateurs and professionals — can enter up to 20 of their best images of Tennessee’s wildlife and landscapes. The winning photos will be featured in the organization’s 2020 calendar. Hike for the Homeless to benefit House of Hope and New Beginnings to help displaced families will be held Saturday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. at Montgomery Bell State Park, 1020 Jackson Hill Rd. in Burns. The Bell Witch Festival will be held at the Bell School Community Complex, 7617 Highway 41 N. in Adams. Red River Tales will be held Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. The performance is free. Free Food Boxes will be available on the first Thursday of each month from 11 a.m.-noon at Mt. Hebron Community Church, 2070 Mosely Ferry Rd. in Chapmansboro.

The Cheatham County Historical and Genealogical Association meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Cheatham County Public Library, 188 John E. Mayfield Dr. in Ashland City. Presentations are given during the April, July and October meetings. Anyone interested in the history of the area is welcome to attend.
