Dr. Tom Seals, founder of God’s Word for Warriors, will be speaking at the Pegram Church of Christ, 5019 Walkup Rd. on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 10:15 a.m. about the organization’s outreach to veterans. God’s Word for Warriors is an organization committed to serving the spiritually wounded, emotionally distressed and broken-hearted by providing peer-based discipleship through a series of faith-based courses, programs, and events. Christmas Anonymous Road Block sponsored by the Ashland City Civitan Club to raise money to purchase toys for underprivileged children in Cheatham County will be held Saturday, Nov. 21 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Main Street intersections in Ashland City and 9 a.m.-noon at the New Hope Road intersection. Donations may also be mailed to Ashland City Civitan Club, P.O. Box 146, Ashland City, TN 37015. For information contact Linda Hicks at (615) 418-0507.

 

Ashland City Civitan Club Christmas Anonymous applications are available. Families who need assistance providing toys for their children can fill out an application until Nov. 14 at the Bethesda Center, 124 S. Main St. in Ashland City. Community members who would like to make a donation to purchase toys can mail a check to Ashland City Civitan Club, P.O. Box 146, Ashland City, TN 37015.

 

Pleasant View Group Open AA Meetings will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-8 p.m. at The Livery Stable/Coach House, 1104 Main St. in Pleasant View.

 

The Cheatham County Historical and Genealogical Association meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Cheatham County Public Library, 188 John E. Mayfield Dr. in Ashland City. Presentations are given during the April, July and October meetings. Anyone 7interested in the history of the area is welcome to attend.
