Dining with Diabetes classes hosted by the Cheatham County Extension Office will be offered for three weeks beginning Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 4 p.m. at the Unity Covenant Church, 99 Brookhollow Dr. in Ashland City. The class is open to anyone with diabetes, family members of people with diabetes or anyone at risk for diabetes. Registration cost is $20. Breast Cancer Health Awareness Breakfast will be held Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Ashland City Free Will Baptist Church, 100 West Elm St. A complimentary breakfast will be provided by The Women's Lift Ministry. Pink Out For Hope will present a program which will include a health professional from Tennessee Oncology and local women who are breast cancer survivors. Women of all ages are encouraged to attend.

The Cheatham County Historical and Genealogical Association meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Cheatham County Public Library, 188 John E. Mayfield Dr. in Ashland City. Presentations are given during the April, July and October meetings. Anyone interested in the history of the area is welcome to attend.
