Car Seat Checkup Events will be held July 14-15 from 2-4 p.m. The sites are: July 14 - Pegram Elementary Fine Art Magnet, 4552 Dogwood Lane; July 15 - Pleasant View Elementary School, 2625 Church St. The events are hosted by the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office and the Cheatham County School District. Pre-registration is not required for the free events. Car seats will be inspected for any manufacturer recalls and examined for proper installation by certified technicians.
Gospel Meeting with Andy Kizer will be held July 26-29 at Sycamore Chapel Church of Christ, 2699 Old Clarksville Pike in Ashland City. Sunday School is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. with worship services at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Weeknight worship service is at 7 p.m.

Colby’s Army Third Annual Pasture Putt Putt Golf and Games will be held Aug. 29-30 from 4-8 p.m. each day at the learning center facility at 1394 George Boyd Rd. in Ashland City. Lawn games such as croquet, lawn bowling and corn hole will be available to play, as well as food for purchase and facility tours. Colby’s Army helps children and adults with life challenges such as autism, Down syndrome, homelessness, depression, anxiety, cerebral palsy, PTSD, and development delay. TN Achieves is recruiting volunteer mentors to provide a local support system to every TN Promise applicant in the Class of 2021. Mentors work with a small group of three to seven students as they transition from high school to college. Mentors complete a training course in person or online. The Cheatham County Historical and Genealogical Association meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Cheatham County Public Library, 188 John E. Mayfield Dr. in Ashland City.
