A Virtual Fun Fair hosted by the UT/TSU Cheatham County Extension Office will allow Cheatham County residents and participants in Cheatham County Extension programming the opportunity to showcase some of the items they have made or grown over the past year. All entries in the virtual fair will be entered through an online system. All photos can be uploaded to the entry system through Aug. 31. Adult and youth categories are available. Colby’s Army Third Annual Pasture Putt Putt Golf and Games will be held Aug. 29-30 from 4-8 p.m. each day at the learning center facility at 1394 George Boyd Rd. in Ashland City. Lawn games such as croquet, lawn bowling and corn hole will be available to play, as well as food for purchase and facility tours. Colby’s Army helps children and adults with life challenges such as autism, Down syndrome, homelessness, depression, anxiety, cerebral palsy, PTSD, and development delay. Tennessee State Parks’ Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee will be held Sept. 1-30 and will be a virtual event this year. Riders can log their miles on lovetoride.net as part of the Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee Cycling Club. The goal is for participants to ride 688 miles, the distance from Bristol to Memphis. Participants can log their miles any way they choose, including road cycling, indoor cycling, gravel or mountain biking. The cost to participate is $150. All participants will receive access to trusted routes at multiple Tennessee State Parks and a 2020 BRAT jersey and T-shirt. The Ashland City Civitan Club Annual Yard Sale will be held Sept. 17-18 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sept. 19 from 8 a.m.-noon at the Bethlehem Center located at 1508 Hwy. 12 North. Funds raised will go toward purchasing toys for underprivileged children in the county. Anyone wishing to donated items for the yard sale can drop them off after noon on Sept. 16. The Cheatham County Historical and Genealogical Association meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Cheatham County Public Library, 188 John E. Mayfield Dr. in Ashland City.
